Right, enough procrastinating and ignoring my interweb page. Behold! I have decide to join the writhing masses and create my very own web comic!

Since I have absolutely no artistic talent, I’m using stripgenerator so you won’t be subjected to crudely drawn stick figures (it’s been done to death anyway), plus I can just bust out with an idea without over thinking it.

Here’s my first attempt:

I do a fair bit of fixing-random-computer shit for people I know. I enjoy helping out humans but they almost always say stuff like “wow, how do you people do it?” or “How did you learn to do that?” etc. All valid questions that I don’t mind answering, the problem is that most of the time they don’t really care what the answer is so they just glaze over, nod and sometimes pick out key buzzwords to ask about. I probably do the same thing when talking to a mechanic about my car.

One thing I have noticed is that when I refer to myself as a Geek to a normal human, they seem to think it’s some sort of derogatory term.

I think the word Geek belongs to us (Geeks), so if you’re a Geek you can call yourself and other Geeks a Geek. But it could be rude depending on the tone, for a normal human to refer to you as a Geek (or for you to call a normal human a Geek).

Hmm.. I shall continue to ponder this.

New year ‘n all. I have lots of stuff going on but I don’t think anyone would really be interested. Not that I’m usually put off by silly thoughts like “do I actually care if anyone is listening?” I just like to rant. But today I am very tired and my brain feels like Ozzy Osbourne on a bad day. So I’ll not post anything important or interesting… at all.

Although, I did notice today that whenever I go into a bank the 4-5 people already at the tellers take a reeeealy long time to finish their transactions, then once they go everyone else is in and out lickety split. Seems to happen to me all the time.

She was released as a closed beta on 12/11/2007 and after some in house bug-testing the final full version has been now been released. The install package was a whopping 4.7MB (that’s around 10lbs 5oz for all you non geeks out there). Anyway, She spends a lot of time in sleep mode and all the i/o functions are working correctly.

Both developers could use some sleep though.

Fun.
